Hey y'all! For anyone who doesn't know me, I'm Ashley Olson.
As a child and young adult I always wanted to be a teacher. I just KNEW that's what I wanted to do. Well, I made it through a year at Shepherd University and came to this sudden realization that I was misguided. Teaching was NOT what I wanted to do for the rest of my life! Don't get me wrong, it's a wonderful profession but it's not for me. I became close with a few Communications majors and had been on the debate team my first semester of freshman year and I was suddenly struck with the idea of engulfing myself in the Communications world. I instantly fell in-love. If I thought I enjoyed teaching, I didn't know what passion was until now! I realized what I considered to be my leisure was actually a possible career. Mind-blowing!
Besides school my life consists of work, friends, and loving what I do. I moved out at 17 and have been living life the hard way ever since. I can't say that I'd change a single thing though! I currently rent a loft and understand the struggles of "adult life." Bills suck, but its the price I pay for independence. My car, Freya, is my key to discovery and freedom. She might be a jalopy, but she gets me from point A to point B. I work at Subway. I joke that I make sammiches in the kitchen like a proper woman, but only I can be sexist against myself. Anyone else who makes this joke I'm instantly unhappy with!
